This is the First one; About Me

Hello, a bit about myself first, my name is Lizzie Beadle and I’m a second-year media production student at Bournemouth University. Media Production stood out to me as a course as its broad and allows me to access multimedia productions in communicating information, art and entertainment- weather that be in advertising/promotion, Social Media, Interactive media or Broadcasting/TV/Entertainment. I’m not entirely sure what role I would like to play in the ever so changing media industry (a content producer potentially) – as I love to see an idea come to life through strategies of storytelling. I do believe in today’s world we live in a remix culture – everything is created from inspirations or influencers – personally I’m always inspired by other marketing campaigns and advertisements.

My key interests are include; Videography, Photography, Audio, Editing and would love to understand more about graphics. My passion started in photography through buying disposable cameras as a youngster and that quickly evolved into me buying my first camera to then finally investing in my dream DSLR Nikon camera a year ago. I see myself as a very visual person – I like seeing something come to life. For instance, I love documenting my travel trip away in a short form video that i post to Youtube. One being with a company that i volunteered with in Africa – my video then being shown in assembly to advertise more students to go on a once and a lifetime trip. I want to understand how the art of being visual in media advertisements is extremely useful to persuade large audience into buying products/experiences (in particular – fashion, music, holidays, films and documentaries and events).

I want to use this blog to express my media interest as well as develop the way I reflect on content creation and consumption. My blog posts will be made up of different components including; Reflecting on my projects, Quick reviews of analysing media content (looking at music videos, trailers, movies, documentaries, advertisements) and lastly I want to address my Thoughts and opinions to understand what media forms I’m most interested in.
